Wireless parking meter network in which drivers can quickly locate and navigate to available parking spaces. Enabling existing
parking meters with IR occupancy sensors and low power RF transceivers can yield a selforganizing
and self-managing distributed system while relying on techniques in mobile ad
hoc networking.
The Complete Streets Audit scoring methodology is based on a 100-point scale, with the
following gradations: A = 80-100, B = 60-79, C = 40-59, D = 20-39, F = 0-19. Sum the results
from the sections below, including pedestrian accommodations along the road, bicycle
accommodations along the road, road crossings, and other context-sensitive factors.
ATR systems, Radar Guns placed on high places over the highway and intersections.
An automatic vehicle speed measurement system is presented that can reliably associate the vehicle ID with the retrieved vehicle speed. The system captures images of vehicles passing between two points on the ground that are in the same vicinity, using a pair of linescan cameras installed in a parallel configuration, and measures the speed of passing vehicles by measuring the time taken for the vehicle license plate to move between the two points.
Inductive loop detector. An inductive loop is simply a coil of wire embedded in the road's surface.
The traffic signal system constantly tests the inductance of the loop in the road, and when the inductance rises to certain threshold, a vehicle is detected and traffic signal system will allocate green time accordingly.
National associations and private sector groups seek to improve the country's transportation infrastructure.
The TRAX III Plus Loop Counter/Classifier offers to the market the most technically
innovative and electronically advanced loop unit available today. Data can be
collected using either road tubes, piezos, loops or a combination of these at either
temporary locations or permanent sites.
Radio frequency (RF) transmission circuitry (240) on the approaching vehicle (110) is responsive to the congestion zone indication signals to transmit and receive RF signals to and from other vehicles on the guide path (102). The approaching vehicle (110) performs various collision avoidance operations as determined by the received RF signals.
The RAC Plus II takes all the benefits of the RAC Plus I and adds the ability
to record and store events to the unit's expansive memory. Detailed analysis
and reporting can then be done by downloading to the WinRAC Plus software. It also has the capability to output directly in real-time to a computer with the WinRAC Plus software.
